On October 1st we welcome William Boyd! The critically acclaimed, bestselling author of fourteen novels -including Restless and Any Human Heart- introduces his gorgeous new novel, Sweet Caress.

Sweet Caress is an enthralling story of a life fully lived, a sweeping panorama of some of the most defining moments of modern history, told through the camera lens of one unforgettable woman Amory Clay.

Over the years, Amory’s search for life, love and artistic expression will take her to the demi monde of late 1920s Berlin, New York of the 1930s, the Blackshirt riots in London and to France in the Second World War, where she becomes one of the first women war photographers, collecting lovers, husbands and children, pursuing her dreams and battling her demons.

Sweet Caress is Will Boyd at his very best; bold, ambitious and exquisitely crafted, this latest novel is set to thrill readers and prize panels alike.

William Boyd has won the Somerset Maugham Award, the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, Prix Jean Monnet and Costa Novel of the Year, he’s been shortlisted for the Booker Prize and his novel Any Human Heart was adapted into a BAFTA-winning Channel 4 drama. He is one of Britain’s most celebrated voices and we’re honoured to host him, especially for such a tremendous book!
