St Andrews Galley Bookgroup

The Galley Bookclub is our ongoing informal monthly gathering for young readers,  where we talk about books, and share snacks and recommendations, it’s the perfect opportunity for budding book-lovers to make new discoveries in literature and new friends!

At the club we talk a little about the books we love (and those we haven’t!) and at the end we’ll send you away with an individual Galley: a book that is yet to be published. We ask that each month you bring along a review of the Galley book that we give you (or another that you love) and we’ll pop it in to our growing collection of brilliant reviews in our scrap-book, which can be found in the Children’s section.

We would encourage younger readers who are on their first chapter books to wait until they are 7 and reading confidently before joining us – there’s no need to rush! Sadly we do not receive books from publishers for such young readers, and in our experience they can feel ever so slightly out of place.
