Ian Robertson

Ian Robertson has played fly-half for Scotland and been a successful author, but it is his voice that has made him an international Rugby legend. He turned out for Scotland between 1968 & 1970, before joining the BBC in 1972 and becoming the official Rugby correspondent in 1983. He has covered the sport on radio and television to great acclaim ever since.

On the eve of his retirement we are delighted to welcome Ian to the bookshop to celebrate his memoir, ‘Rugby: Talking a Good Game’. In it he reflects on a career spent commentating on the sport he loves, reliving the highs and lows of the last forty years in rugby union.
