Eddie Mair, best known as the voice of Radio 4’s PM, and a familiar face on Newsnight, began his radio career on the public address system of his Dundee high school. Since then he has been heard on Radio Tay, Radio Scotland, and has occasionally hosted The Andrew Marr Show. Eddie will be visiting St Andrews this autumn to talk about his collection of Radio Times columns, A Good Face for Radio.
With such staggering moments as the handover of Hong Kong to the Chinese, Eddie’s attempt to ask Arnold Schwarzenegger a question, and updates on Martha Kearney’s beekeeping habit, A Good Face for Radio is sure to be as loved almost as much as Eddie himself. With a warmth and humour all his own, this will be an excellent chance to hear one of Britain’s favourite broadcasters without having to tune your radio first.
