Brian Johnstone was born in Edinburgh and has lived in Fife since 1972 where has been variously a primary school teacher, festival director of StAnza, and of course, a writer of poetry. Along with his various collections and pamphlets, he also published his memoir Double Exposure with Saraband in 2017.
Jukebox Jeopardy is conceived as a compilation album of truth and fantasy, stories and imaginings. A music-themed work, it looks back at the teenage poet’s stumbling path through the pop and rock of the ’50s, ’60s and early ’70s, going from Elvis to The Beatles, from Dusty to The Stones and beyond. The evening will include readings by the poet, a few words from Sheila Wakefield of Red Squirrel Press and some songs by Dave Burnett & Rod McAra.
