Ann Cleeves is the author of more than thirty critically acclaimed novels, including the series behind both BBC’s Shetland and ITV’s Vera. In 2017, Ann was awarded the highest accolade in crime writing, the CWA Diamond Dagger, marking her career as one of sustained excellence, and of course, great popularity.
She joins us this September to celebrate the first novel in a captivating new series, introducing Detective Inspector Matthew Venn. Reserved and complex, he returns to the strict evangelical community he abandoned in his youth. He is mourning his father, and is set to take over the major case of a man who was stabbed to death on a nearby beach. This investigation will lead Venn to uncover potentially deadly secrets lurking in his past.
