We fell in love with William Boyd’s enchanting fiction when he first emerged with A Good Man in Africa, so it brings us great pleasure to have William with us 14 novels later with Love is Blind.

This sweeping, heart-stopping new novel is set at the end of the 19th century and follows the fortunes of Brodie Moncur, a young Scottish musician. When he is offered a job in Paris, a fateful encounter with a famous pianist irrevocably changes his future – and sparks an obsessive love affair with a beautiful Russian soprano.

What follows is a tale of dizzying passion and brutal revenge; of artistic endeavour and the illusions it creates; of all the possibilities that life can offer, and how cruelly they can be snatched away.

William Boyd has won the Somerset Maugham Award, the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, Prix Jean Monnet and Costa Novel of the Year. He has been shortlisted for the Booker Prize and his novel Any Human Heart was adapted into a BAFTA-winning Channel 4 drama. He is one of Britain’s most celebrated and beloved storytellers, and we’re proud to have him with us!
