Alison Weir has perfected the art of bringing history to life. There is a breadth of vision to her research and writing that provides a sense of time and place as well as consequence.” – Chicago Tribune

Alison Weir is a true bookshop favourite; she is one of the country’s leading popular historians and has utilised her vast field of knowledge to bring to life some of history’s most neglected female figures. We are absolutely delighted to welcome Alison back to the bookshop this summer for a fabulously entertaining and informative evening talking all things historical women.

Alison will be discussing two of her latest endeavours: the process of bringing the ever-fascinating (and ever-controversial) figure of Anne Boleyn to life in her latest novel Anne Boleyn: A King’s Obsession; and her spectacular study of medieval female monarchs, Queens of The Conquest. She is an exceptional speaker with a wealth of expertise, and it is a joy see her return to the bookshop.
