What do you do when you put out your hand to be shaken and your opposite number leans in for a kiss? How do you tackle loud groups in a quiet carriage? If you’ve ever been faced with such impossible dilemmas, then you will most definitely want to come to hear Sandi Toksvig guide us through the minefield of modern manners. Peas and Queues uncovers fascinating details about the change in manners across time, from the earliest étiquettes (little cards reminding courtiers how to behave) to the changing nature of spoons. Sandi is of course known as a journalist, novelist and comedian, as well as one of the most distinctive voices on Radio 4 – the News Quiz is one of the comedy highlights of the week for many. This will be a wonderful opportunity to meet Sandi Toksvig in person, and hear her take on (as well as her solutions to) these vexing questions, with her usual wit and panache. This promises to be a very funny and even educational evening, which will help to beat the winter blues, and improve modern social interaction for the better!
