King Kong theory is a bold punk feminist collection of essays that covers a range of subjects. Despentes covers sex work, heteronormativity,
fear tactics and the myth of the perfect white woman that permeates western society. She draws from her experience as a sex worker and of
being raped, whilst maintaining a systematic analysis throughout. Her angry punk prose offers up interesting ideas that challengingly
juxtapose modern feminist narratives. We hope to engage in critical thinking on this book to develop our feminist perspectives. So come and join us in a socialist feminist discussion on the context of this book and what we can take away from it.
A place at the reading group is £7, which can be redeemed against any book in the bookshop.
