Venue
St Mary's Church, St Mary's Street, Ely, CB7 4HF
Start Time
3pm

A talented poet and comedian, Pam Ayres has been a writer, broadcaster, and entertainer for over 35 years. In 1975 Pam made her first TV appearance on the talent show, Opportunity Knocks, which proved to be the start of an incredible career for a unique entertainer. Ayres continues to tour the United Kingdom, and is a regular contributor to BBC television and radio, appearing in programmes such as Just a Minute, The One Show, Countdown and QI, and hosting her own show Ayres On The Air.  In her memoir, Necessary Aptitude, Ayres remembers her idyllic and lively childhood in Stanford in the Vale, her short career in the Civil Service, and finding herself in the Far East after joining the WRAF . This will be a wonderful opportunity to listen to the colourful early life and events that shaped the career and life of one of Britain’s favourite comics.
