Free event: Marcus and Julian Sedgwick

We are delighted to invite you to join us in celebrating the brilliant new graphic novel by Marcus and Julian Sedgwick, Dark Satanic Mills – an eagerly anticipated first collaboration between the fabulously talented Sedgwick brothers! Set in post-apocalyptic, flooded Britain a young woman, Christy, is on the run after a murder accusation. A gripping plot,  beautifully illustrated by John Higgens and Marc Olivent, Dark Satanic Mills is, according to Julian, ‘Kind of Mad Max meets William Blake – with a bit of Wizard of Oz for good measure!’

Marcus Sedgwick is the bestselling author of a mindboggling array of novels, picturebooks and collections of myths and fairytales. It’s a real treat to welcome him to Topping & Company at last – Marcus even centred a previous work – Floodland – a dystopian novel set in the future, around Ely Cathedral!

Julian Sedgwick’s first novel, The Mysterium: The Black Dragon, was published earlier this year and in the future he intends to write the much-awaited sequel(s) to it, whilst  working on a number of other fascinating projects, both solo and with Marcus. In his spare time, Julian is a painter, researcher, artist and fire juggler- and was once a Topping & Company Bookseller himself – it is a pleasure to welcome him back!
