February sees publication of Celia Imrie’s debut novel Not Quite Nice . Celia is best known for her roles in the films Calendar Girls and Nanny McPhee and for television roles in After You’ve Gone, A Dark Adapted Eye and Acorn Antiques. She has also recently appeared in her own cabaret/revue show Laughing Matters.
59-year-old Theresa swaps her Highgate townhouse for a flat in the French Mediterranean seaside town of Bellevue-sur-Mer, near Nice. The story features a host of eccentric characters and the charming Brian, who catches Theresa’s eye. Not Quite Nice is a witty story of secrets, friendship and the lesson that it is never too late for a new beginning. It is funny, romantic and a joy to read. Come and hear Celia bring her trademark wit and sparkle to Ely!
