What a treat this is: two of our most well-loved writers and poets in one evening. Blake Morrison, author of poetry collections, libretti, plays, memoirs and novels- including the haunting and disturbing The Last Weekend – will be celebrating (and sharing with us, before publication!) his new collection, A Discoverie of Witches. Blake will be joined by the great Wendy Cope, who we are proud to call a local poet! Wendy is a titanic figure in British poetry, widely celebrated for her slyly witty and unfailingly lovely poems on anything and everything. Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis remains one of the most popular poetry collections of all time, and Wendy’s latest, Family Values, is a stunning work from a talented and wonderful doyenne of the English literary scene.
