Renowned for his contributions to the New Yorker and Private Eye, Will McPhail is one of Britain’s most celebrated, distinctive cartoonists. Politically incisive and delightfully concise, Will’s cartoons give form to the common anxieties of modern life and speak to humanity’s most bizarre behavioural traits. Will’s previous, entitled In, was celebrated in The Guardian as a ‘tragicomedy [which] will also make the heart swell’ and was the first graphic novel to be the recipient of Betty Trask Prize at the 2022 Society of Authors’ Awards.

Following on from this success, Love and Vermin is a collection of old favourites and new pieces, all in a classic black and white interior which evokes the timelessness of his craft. If In was Will making his mark, Love and Vermin solidifies his position as one the most cherished cartoonists of his generation.

So come join us for a glass of something and help us in celebrating one of Edinburgh’s finest artistic exports!
