Edwin Morgan Prize Winners

Named in honour of Edwin Morgan, poet and translator of the Scottish Renaissance, each year the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award (EMPA) celebrates the talented array of young Scottish poets.

First inaugurated in 2014, each year the EMPA supports the work of over 20 poets, awarding £20,000 to the winning poet, £2,500 for the runners up, and £1000 for each shortlisted poet. Previous prize winners have included the likes of Daisy Lafarge, Alycia Pirmohamed, Claire Askew, and Harry Josephine Giles.

In 2022, the EMPA was awarded - for the first time in its history - to multiple poets. This quartet of astounding poets are comprised of Titilayo Farukuoye, Roshni Gallagher, Alyson Kissner and Michael Mullen.

And this March, we will have the pleasure of hearing what each of these vibrant, endlessly inventive minds give voice to in their poetry. So come along to the bookshop to hear poems as yet unpublished, straight from the mouth's of Scotland's poetic future.
