Poetry Reading Group

Calling all poetry lovers in Edinburgh – come and join us every second Monday of the month for our new poetry reading group, VOICES. From Queer and BAME voices, to Native American voices and voices in translation, our reading group will be an opportunity to explore an eclectic range of poetry.

No need to have read every poem from a collection or every collection from a poet! Come along for a casual conversation, to share interpretations and find meaning together.

Three Poems, by Hannah Sullivan

The release of Hannah Sullivan’s much-anticipated second collection Was It For This earlier in 2023 prompted our choice for our next Poetry Reading Group. This April, we will turn to Sullivan’s debut collection - Three Poems is a revelation - three long poems of fresh ambition, intensity and substance. Though each poem stands apart, their inventive and looping encounters make for a compelling unity.

In Three Poems, readers will experience Sullivan’s work with the same exhilaration as they might the great modernising poems of Eliot and Pound, but with the unique perspective of a brilliant new female voice.
