Heading into 2024, we’ll be continuing our Fantasy and Science Fiction reading group, exploring worlds both fantastical and horrific, monstrous and utopian. Whether your interests lie in exploring the ruins of a lost civilization, challenging fiends to save the world from ruin or delicately navigating the politics of a corporate interstellar McEmpire™ (Ask about our franchising options and get a free McNuke™!), I do hope you’ll join us.

For the fifth reading group of 2024, we'll heading to the deserts of Arrakis, where the noble House Atreides has been entrusted with stewardship of the planet and it's priceless resource, the spice melange.

Melange, or 'spice', is the most valuable - and rarest - element in the universe. It allows for prescience, heightened levels of thought and most crucially, the safe passage of interstellar ships.Whoever controls Arrakis controls the spice. And whoever controls the spice controls the universe.

When stewardship of Arrakis is transferred to his house, Paul Atreides must travel to the planet's dangerous surface to ensure the future of his family and his people. But as hostile forces converge on his families new holding, Paul finds himself thrust towards a destiny greater, and more terrifying, than any other.
