Of This and Other Worlds

Starting this February, we’ll be kicking off our Fantasy and Science Fiction reading group, exploring worlds both fantastical and horrific, monstrous and utopian. Whether your interests lie in exploring the ruins of a lost civilization, challenging fiends to save the world from ruin or delicately navigating the politics of a corporate interstellar McEmpire™ (Ask about our franchising options and get a free McNuke™!), I do hope you’ll join us on every 3rd Monday of the month.

For July's reading group, we’ll be diving into a dark fantasy epic with The Justice of Kings by Richard Swan. The Empire of the Wolf stands at the precipice - heresy, rebellion and the ambitions of the noble families threaten to tear it asunder. In a land where the demons and spirits that mankind dread are very real, it can take but a single spark to light a terrible flame.

Thrust into the very heart of the chaos that threatens the Empire are Sir Konrad Vonvalt, and his protégé and scribe, Helena Sedanka. As the pair investigates the murder of a rural aristocrat, they unearth a conspiracy that stretches to the very top of imperial society. Vonvalt and Helena must make a choice: will they abandon the laws they’ve sworn to uphold in order to protect the empire?
