In this monthly reading group we will discuss popular fiction from all over the globe! Perfect for those who want to get a bit more out of what they’re reading, and a chance to talk about it with some like-minded readers.
Our first book is the South Korean sensation Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982 by Cho Nam-Joo (trans. Jamie Chang). Similar to the Oscar-Winning Parasite, Cho’s book questions the surface of Korea’s glamour and wealth, using the story of one woman to reveal gender inequality in all parts of South Korean society.
The Fiction Reading group will meet on the first Wednesday of every month, beginning on the 4th of March. There will be two groups running simultaneously so if you’d like to be in the same group as a friend, try to arrive together! A place at the reading group is £5 and this voucher can be used on the night of the event against the purchase of any book in the shop.
