Jennifer Finney Boylan is the author of numerous works of fiction and non fiction, including the seminal She's Not There: A Life in Two Genders, which was the first bestselling work by a transgender American. She is a human rights activist and a professor at Barnard College of Columbia University, and a 2022–2023 Fellow at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. For many years she was the national co-chair of GLAAD as well as a contributing opinion writer for the New York Times.
