We are so happy to announce a new event with Edinburgh writer and GP Gavin Francis, to celebrate his new book Recovery: The Lost Art of Convalescence.

An exploration of illness, recovery, and healing, Gavin Francis’ new book comes at a particularly poignant moment. Recovery considers how and why we get better, revealing the many shapes recovery can take, and how best we approach and achieve it. Understanding that the end of an illness marks the beginning of a longer, sometimes complex journey to recovery, it is full of insights into the everyday miracle of convalescence, as well as stories of hope and transformation.
