Join us on April 29th for our next meeting of the Feminist Fiction Reading Group!

This session we will be reading Catherine Lacey's Biography of X, which we were lucky enough to host an event for when the book was first released last year! This book is complex in the way it is told, for there are multiple layers of storytelling happening. This is because it is a fictional biography, of a famous women who never actually existed. X was her name, and CM was her wife. After reading lies and glorifications of the woman she loved, CM was determined to write a 'faithful' account of X's life. But as we read on about who X really was, the author unravels more about how the United States has changed, since different aspects of its history are warped and changed compared to our reality. Not only will this be an interesting read due to the compelling inception-like way the novel is written, but we will also be able to discuss all the themes pertaining to deception, fame, love, and so much more.

Each place costs £5 per ticket, which can be redeemed as a voucher towards a copy of the book. We hope you’ll join us for some great conversation, and a glass of wine on us!
