Feminist Fiction Reading Group

Topping & Company's Feminist Reading Group continues this August with Curtis Sittenfeld's Rodham ! Although the concept of this book can be seen as a bit controversial, as it follows Hilary Clinton's life if she chose not to marry former U.S. President Bill Clinton, this novel lends itself to be a great topic to discuss how far the term "feminist" can stretch when applied to fiction. Is it feminist to completely rewrite a woman's life? Especially one who is still alive? Or is all of it void because she is famous? Or perhaps a political figure?

All of these questions and more will be touched upon in this month's reading group pick, so book your place whilst you can! Please note that places for this reading group are very limited.
