Yomi Adegoke is a multi award-winning journalist and author. She is currently a columnist at The Guardian and British Vogue and is the former host of the Women's Fiction Prize podcast. In 2018, she co-wrote the bestselling book Slay In Your Lane and the same year was named one of the most influential people in London by the Evening Standard.

She joins us in the bookshop to discuss The List, hailed as 'the perfect summer read: intelligent, funny, topical and impossible to put down’ - PAULA HAWKINS.

Ola Olajide, a high-profile journalist at Womxxxn magazine, is marrying the love of her life in one month's time. Young, beautiful, successful, she and her fiancé Michael Koranteng are the ‘couple goals’ of their social networks. And as Michael has finally landed the job of his dreams, the pair truly seem to have it all. Until one morning when they both wake up to the same message:

‘Oh my god, have you seen The List?’

It began as a list of anonymous allegations about abusive men, circulated in secret to protect other women. Now it has been published online. Ola made her name breaking exactly this type of story. She would usually be the first to cover it, calling for the men to be fired. Except today, Michael’s name is on there.

With their future on the line, Ola gives Michael an ultimatum to prove his innocence by their wedding day, but will the truth of what happened change everything for both of them?

‘Topical, heart-felt, provocative and wise’ - BERNARDINE EVARISTO, Booker Prize-winning author of Girl, Woman, Other

‘A tantalizing, addictive novel that will set off a million debates’ - ANNIE LORD, author of Notes on Heartbreak

The List asks "what if?" and the answers will surely get people thinking. A vibrantly told exploration of the messy interface between virtual and offline relationships. A page-turning tale!’ - CHARMAINE WILKERSON, author of Black Cake
