Victoria Owens is a graduate of Bath Spa University’s MA course in Creative Writing and was the winner of the inaugural Jane Austen Short Story Award. Her first novel, Drawn to Perfection, grew out of her interest in the eighteenth century.
Caelica’s mother is ill, her brother faces trial for forgery, and her father’s parishioners show only scorn for the family. When Caelica catches the attention of a rich landowner’s son, it falls on her to put things right by making a good marriage. But how far should she allow her family’s circumstances to shape her future? Especially when the young man she is to wed conceals so much from those around him.
