Jenny Erpenbeck, a celebrated German author, still somehow manages to largely fly under the radar here in Britain despite her acclaim and numerous awards. Go Went Gone is her latest novel, and illustrates the extraordinary empathy that infuses her work with resounding truth, as she tackles the very relevant topic of displacement.
