Reading Group: Sex and Stravinsky by Barbara Trapido
Monday 8th June 2015
The Bookshop, Friends Meeting House, York Street, Bath, BA1 1NG
8pm

Barbara Trapido’s most recent novel ‘sparkles with Midsummer Night’s Dream magic’ so it seems a fitting read as we head towards the year’s longest day. As with Trapido’s other novels, including Brother of the More Famous jack, Temples of Delight and the Booker long-listed, Frankie and Stankie, this promises a rich cast of characters and locations. It tells the tale of Caroline, a brilliant woman, capable of commanding everything except her own family. Knitting together domestic drama and global themes, Sex and Stravinsky promises brilliantly choreographed comedy and observational detail.
Come along to the bookshop for an evening of light literary discussion, friendly conversation and a glass of wine or cup of tea – we can share our own comic observations of domestic life and see whether Trapido manages to do them justice.
