Since launching his first novel The Shock of the Fall here last spring, Nathan Filer has been growing in renown. Winning the Costa First Novel Award, then beating the odds to win Book of the Year, The Shock of the Fall is a unique novel, written with pace, humour and huge reserves of empathy. This was one of our favourite books of 2013, due to Filer’s wonderful depiction of childhood and his moving yet hopeful account of mental illness that draws on his experience as a psychiatric nurse. Nathan Filer is a modern day renaissance man, and we are thrilled to welcome him back to celebrate The Shock of the Fall’s thoroughly deserved triumph. If you missed him the first time round, don’t miss him again!
Please note the new venue for this event – Christ Church, Julian Road. If you have already booked places we will be in touch to confirm the change.
