Morag Joss returns to Bath to talk about her seventh novel.  Across the Bridge is set in the highlands of Scotland, where three strangers, all  in various ways counted among the missing, come together to forge a future following the fatal collapse of a bridge.  Published earlier this year to universal praise in America and drawing comparisons with William Trevor, Alice Munro and Alice Sebold, Across the Bridge has been described by critics as “a harrowing, haunting punch to the heart … flat-out brilliant.  About the secrets we keep, the lives we are desperate to live, and the chances we miss, it’s a psychological dazzler” (Caroline Leavitt) and “a novel so striking that the reader will feel the rush of the river, the collapse of the girders and, most of all, the compassion of its creator.” (Jay Strafford)
