The new date for this event is Monday 30th April.
Michael Broers, Professor of Western European History at Oxford University, returns to Bath to talk about his new book The Spirit of the Age. In this major new study, the second volume in this three-part life of Napoleon, Broers covers tumultuous years of 1805 to 1810―marking the zenith of Napoleon’s power and military might across Europe. Examining the motivations behind the man himself, and making full use of new correspondence compiled by the Fondation Napoléon in Paris, The Spirit of the Age is a distinguished and scholarly work, told with phenomenal energy, style and cutting edge research. We’re incredibly looking forward to this evening, as Mike joins us to bring this powerful historical figure to life in his usual engaging and entertaining style.
