Dark and sultry, this month’s choice, The Vegetarian, is the first book to ever recieve the International Man Booker Prize (the format of the prize was changed this year to award books rather than a body of work). It is a tense, subtle exploration of discontent and passive rebellion – a novel that is beautiful and chilling in equal measure.
What isn’t chilling in the slightest, however, is our lovely, warm reading group. We have a glass of wine, some posh crisps and other nibbles, and a nice casual chat about our thoughts on the book. There are few evenings I look forward to than our monthly meeting, as the regulars are a pure pleasure to spend time with.
Please, come along and join our brilliant little group. I hope to see you there!
