Set in France 1942, the novel focuses around Sandrine in her fight alongside an female network of resistance fighters, codenamed ‘Citadel’. ‘Citadel’ not only fight against Nazi oppression but must also fight an even older evil to protect an ancient and shadowy secret that in the wrong hands could reshape history. Meanwhile, Sandrine must decipher who of three men is the enemy and who is guardian of the secret she must protect.
