British interior designer Flora Soames (and, incidentally, great-granddaughter of Winston Churchill) founded her business in 2009 and launched an acclaimed collection of fabrics, wallpapers and home accessories in 2019.

Informed by her background in art and furniture, her distinctive style exudes the traditional charm of English country homes while incorporating modern, original touches that are comfortable and design-led. This embrace of old and new—along with Flora's passion for collecting, heritage, colour, and pattern—has resulted in an impressive portfolio of projects in the UK and beyond.

Flora’s first book, The One Day Box, was published by Rizzoli this September. Inspired by the concept of a 'One Day Box'—a place, real or imaginary, where we store fragments of our past that spark a feeling of connection— it explores the meaning of home as seen through her eyes and those of her family, as well as the sentiments evoked by much loved objects during seminal moments in her life.

Flora will be interviewed by journalist and novelist Plum Sykes for an event celebrating the joy of making a home.
Based on their shared love of home and interiors, they will be discussing The One Day Box, and the fascination we have with collecting ‘things’ in different shapes and forms, and how layers of stories are connected through our interiors, underpinning the way we live in our homes today.
