Dr Mara Kalnins, Fellow of Corpus Christi (Cambridge) explores the links between the civilizations of the Baltic, Mediterranean and Black Seas through the story of amber. The Ancient Amber Routes takes us on a historical odyssey, as well as the author’s personal quest to find the legendary origins of the Baltic peoples. This will be a lively and engaging talk, combining travel, history, art and archaeology.
