In her latest book, Clarissa’s England, she describes her love affair with the country, and combines personal history with culinary asides create an unique and intimate account of this nation.
From fond memories of mods and rockers in Brighton, where Clarissa went to school, to the little town of Kingsbridge, close to Salcombe, where she found comfort in the church plaque’s message after the death of her mother; from the unearthing of a bird’s amongst the excavations of the Roman Baths in Bath, to Melton Mowbray pork pies – Stilton and Red Leicester cheeses; from rolling out of danger in quicksands, to gourmet meals in Shropshire, this is a delicious and entirely personal amble around most of the counties of England.
