Disco, divas, and dressing up. Welcome to the wild world of 1970s fashion! Join us to hear Tamara and Willie in conversation as they explore this hedonistic decade and its impact on today.

Featuring exclusive interviews with the movers and shakers of the time, including Grace Coddington, Zandra Rhodes, Willy van Rooy, Marie Helvin, Pat Cleveland, Elsa Peretti and more, Behind the Gloss lifts the lid on the hedonistic, wild world of the 1970s.

They were the designers who dressed the Rolling Stones, Charlotte Rampling and Catherine Deneuve; the photographers who shot Diana Ross, Lauren Hutton and Jerry Hall; the fashion editors, hairstylists and make-up artists who worked with some of the most beautiful women in the world; and they would change the fashion world forever. Behind the Gloss tells the revelatory story of the decade of experimentation.

Bath journalist, Tamara Sturtz-Filby specialises in fashion, beauty and women's lifestyle. She worked for Marie Claire and Harper's Bazaar for over a decade, after which she freelanced for Vogue, Elle, Red, Grazia, the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph and the Sunday Times.

Willie Christie's photographs are far more than a record of fashion, style or contemporary culture. Dynamic, cinematic and stylish, they present beautifully observed moments within a narrative, leaving the viewer intrigued, beguiled and enthralled. His work from the heady mid-1970s remains highly relevant today, speaking to us through the uncompromising individuality and power of his compositions.

With a foreword by legendary Vogue style director Grace Coddington, this first ever collection of Christie's vibrant work re-examines the people and the styles of his original output, together with his own reminiscences from his days at Vogue and The Sunday Times, and from his collaborations with Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones.
