Back to School with The Institute for Education

We are very excited to announce this special event to launch our commemorative book celebrating Newton Park’s 70 year history in training outstanding teachers.

‘Back to School’ is an inspiring journey through the history of teacher training at Bath Spa, featuring new interviews with teacher training alumni from the last seven decades and their stories.

It also features an insightful look back at how education at Bath Spa became the Institute that it is today, and details the trials that Miss Mary Dawson – the founder of Newton Park College – faced from 1946 onward in setting up the college against the challenging political backdrop of post-war Britain.

During this event, we will be launching the book with a selection of creative readings from the alumni interviews, followed by a drinks and canapé reception.

Come along and share your memories, catch-up with colleagues old and new, fellow alumni and students to celebrate this very special landmark in our history as we look forward to the next 70 years of education at Bath Spa University.
