The perfect evening for allotment holders, gardeners, cooks and lovers home-grown produce. The Allotment Kitchen is full of recipes that take inspiration from what can be gathered any day either from the allotment or from walks in the countryside – a genuine cook’s compilation of favourite recipes. There is a special enjoyment in preparing dishes with the freshest ingredients, be it a “gleaner’s salad” picked from thinnings and herbs, globe artichokes and peas for a midsummer stew, or windfall fruit for an autumn chutney. Bath writer, allotment gardener and cook, Susan Williamson’s culinary style is in the tradition of Elizabeth David and Jane Grigson. She will give a talk and seasonal cookery demo with delicious tastings.
