**Unfortunately this event has been postponed, we will be rescheduling in the near future**
Award winning St Andrews writer Roger McStravick will be taking us on a walk and talk through St Andrews, discussing his stunning illustrated history of Old Tom Morris’ St Andrews and highlighting some of the lesser known corners of this beautiful and historically-rich town.
McStravick’s chronicle of life in St. Andrews during the era of Old Tom Morris examines the important role that Morris played in securing the town’s reputation as the “home of golf.” McStravick’s careful curation allows readers to experience the undercurrent of Old Tom’s life and provides a unique perspective on the entrepreneurs, golfers and friends who made a living in the historic town.
When we look to the success of St Andrews, Old Tom played a hugely important role; Morris was a Victorian superstar, a champion golfer- winning The Open Championship four times- and a prolific course designer. Following in his footsteps, and those of Roger’s exquisite history, readers will enjoy watching this extraordinary period come alive.
We will meet at the bookshop at 10am for coffee, then set off on a walking tour of the town that will last approximately an hour – so do dress warmly! After this we’ll have coffee and cake in the bookshop, and Roger will be signing copies of his book.
