Literary Odyssey – November Fiction Book Group

This November reading group we’ll be in Egypt with the novel Woman At Point Zero by Nawal El-Saadawi. This is a remarkable story about rebellion against a society founded on lies, oppression, brutality, and hypocrisy. Saadawi writes with passion and directness that indicts society’s brutal treatment of women. Nawal El-Saadawi is a world renowned writer and activist for women’s freedom. In 1996, Saadawi received an honorary doctorate from the University of St Andrews.
