An Afternoon with The Kelpies Sculptor Andy Scott
Saturday 29th July 2017
Hope Park and Martyrs Church, KY16 9UY

On the 24th July, the Kelpies Maquettes will be coming to St Andrews! These beautiful three-metre sculptures provided the model for the world-famous Kelpies in Falkirk, and will be making a temporary home for themselves on the Bruce Embankment by the British Golf Museum.
We are thrilled to welcome to St Andrews Andy Scott, creator and sculptor of the renowned Kelpies. Andy will be speaking about the creation of these magnificent sculptures and providing insight into his exquisite book, The Kelpies. The book explores the inspiration behind The Kelpies’ creation, and the mechanics of their construction, all in stunning photographic detail. This is a unique opportunity to engage with one of the foremost sculptors of our generation, and gain a fascinating look into the history of one of Scotland’s most famous and celebrated landmarks.
The arrival of the Maquettes in St Andrews is bringing a wealth of community-focused activities and events, and we’re delighted to be collaborating with Tourism St Andrews in bringing these magnificent sculptures to life.
