After a distinguished early career as an ITN correspondent reporting on such world events as the Irish Troubles, the Vietnam War, the Munich Olympics Massacre and the growth of international terrorism, Gerald Seymour made an explosive literary debut with Harry’s Game. Forty years on from that now classic thriller, he continues to set  readers’ pulses racing with his fast-moving and authentic tales of espionage and undercover action. His latest, No Mortal Thing, plunges its unsuspecting English hero into the midst of the tangled Europe-wide fight against organised crime and, as always, combines nail-biting suspense with a realism, plausibility and political insight rare in the genre. Ever since Gerald gave a memorable talk in our Bath shop a few years ago we have been looking for an opportunity to invite him to Ely and are especially looking forward to his launching our programme of events for 2016 by introducing us to his powerful new novel and the shadowy world it depicts.

Please note – the venue has changed since first announced.
