Best-selling author of The Pilot’s Wife, The Weight of Water and Light on Snow, this is a rare visit to the UK for Anita to celebrate the publication of The Lives of Stella Bain, the story of a severely shell-shocked American nurse struggling to regain her memory and her identity amidst the rubble and ruins of World War One.

Clever and deeply wise, Anita’s books always cast light on families in dire straits and the great- and not so great- lengths that we will go to to hold ourselves together in times of crisis. Often focussing on the perspectives of women embroiled in deeply difficult situations, she offers shrewd and illuminating observations on humanity’s less than perfect behaviour.
