This month we are reading The Polyglot Lovers by Swedish author Lina Wolff. Ellinor is thirty-six. She wears soft black sweatpants and a Michelin Man jacket. She fights. Smart and unsentimental, she tries her hand at online dating, only to be stranded by a snowstorm with a literary critic. Ferocious and irreverent, this multiple prize-winning novel burns down the pretensions of a pompous literary establishment and takes no prisoners.
Our reading groups last for roughly an hour, and consists of a relaxed chat with tea/coffee/wine and nibbles. The chat focuses on the set book to begin with, but often amiably strays to include thoughts on other related books.
