We are delighted to be welcoming one of Britain’s best-loved authors, P. D. James, for a rare and exciting reading at St. Swithin’s Church. Writer of such modern classics as The Children of Men and Innocent Blood, P. D. has been a leading light in British fiction for fifty years, and joins us to discuss her latest novel, Death Comes to Pemberley.

A book which reimagines Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy as they are plunged into a murder mystery, Death Comes to Pemberley promises to be one of the most entertaining and absorbing titles of the year. Held at St. Swithin’s, which itself was the church at which Jane Austen worshipped, this promises to be a fascinating evening, and will be one of only a very few events at which P. D. James will be appearing – don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet a true mistress of her art.
