It turns out that Jack Whitehall – comedian, actor and all-round charmer – isn’t the only funnyman in the family. His father, Michael, agent to the likes of Judi Dench and Colin Firth, has joined forces with his son to write a memoir with a difference: the same twenty years from two very different points of view. Him and Me is a treasure trove of familial lunacy, from what may very well be Jack’s finest performance to date – faking Tourette’s and a slight mental illness to get out of attending the illustrious Dragon School – to Michael’s high jinx in the Marlborough College fathers’ race. But don’t be fooled by Michael and Jack’s antagonistic banter; each chapter is a testimony to the deep bond that exists between a father and son. With their television show Backchat coming up, the Whitehalls are becoming something of a comedy duo. Him and Me is an hilarious memoir that does their cheek and wit full justice. Don’t miss the chance to meet this unlikely pair and hear them reminisce about a not-so-typical family life.
