When Simon Thurley came to us in the Autumn he left us- and you- spellbound with his masterful approach to understanding and preserving our beautiful heritage. We are absolutely delighted that Simon is returning to celebrate The Building of England, his beautiful new book on the development of our national architecture. Sweeping from Norman castles to modern skyscrapers, Simon’s writing combines sensitivity, scholarship and a deep practical understanding of the ways in which our buildings reflect and shape the way we live.

Join us for a fascinating talk on the evolution of English towns and villages, as Simon uncovers the ideas and aspirations of the people who commissioned them, built them and lived in them.
