Richard Coles charmed us all when he last visited for the first volume of his autobiography, Fathomless Riches. Wry humour, celebrity anecdote and often very affecting affirmations of his faith proved a winning combination. Bringing in the Sheaves continues where Fathomless Riches left off, with Richard’s ordination in 2005. The story, however, is told very differently, structured around the church’s year, beginning with the ordination season in Petertide and then on through Advent and Christmas to Lent and Easter, drawing on Richard’s experiences in his ten years of ministry. Interwoven with these is the story of his continuing career as a broadcaster and in media. How can one be the servant of two masters? What is the grain and texture of a parish priest’s life? How can you be faithful in ministry and not unintelligible to the rest of the world? In the lovely and  appropriate setting of St. Mary’s Church, this will be an unmissable evening!
